Photography is my passion! If I won the lottery today I would still wake up tomorrow and continue with my business, I am doing what I love, what makes my heart beat, it’s why I wake up every morning and nothing can ever change that.
I stumbled across your blog after visiting the Broken Light blog ( I like to visit everyone who either comments or likes a post of mine). I saw “Masquerade: Beguiling” and loved it. You work is outstanding!
The pleasure is all mine. As you may have surmised from looking at my blog, I don’t “do” people. Avoid it like the plague actually. But I can sure recognize when someone does it very well, and with a more creative flare than the average people/portrait photographer.
Thank you. It’s funny, I started school 2 years ago to get into Landscape and Nature photography, I wanted nothing to do with portraits. But as our assignments came I found myself loving the portraits, as it turns out I want to get into editorial photography, It’s been an interesting road.
I just wanted to let you know that I love checkin’ in to see what’s new~I’ve loved photography, too, since I was a little girl. I still own the first camera which I received, the Kodak Disc camera, and the ones which followed.
Keep up the great work! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by! I have kept my old cameras too. I moved 2 years ago and found a very old 110 film cartridge from one of those thin cameras that could fit in your pocket from back in the 80’s. I can’t find anyone who can develop them, I wonder what could be on it, I was probably in 4th or 5th grade when I took those pictures.
Continue to follow your passion and feel free to pick my brain if you ever have photography questions 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for following! Love your photos and can’t wait to see more!
Hi, wanted to ask you if you photograph everything in RAW or do you also use, or only use, JPG format? Just wondering…
Hi Mary, sorry it took awhile to reply, I was out of state and didn’t have much access to my blog. To answer your question, I only shoot in RAW, even if it’s candid shots around the house. When shooting in JPEG the image is compressed and the camera does a bit of editing to the images. I prefer to use RAW and do my own edits. With RAW you have far more control, the images are exactly how you took it. Every time you open and save a JPEG it compresses more, eventually the image becomes useless. I hope this helps 🙂
Yeah, thanks for the info. As always, your images are spectacular!
Thank you, I’m glad I could help 🙂
You need to check out the hardcover book cover for ‘Y: a novel’ by Marjorie Celona. http://Www.bn.com has an image of it. Eerily similar to your logo…
Well that’s a little creepy! Thanks for the heads up! For some reason, right after I made the new logo, I have come across about 100 logos that use dandelions, I can’t believe I have never seen them before.
Since you have nothing better to do than wait for your new camera 😉
I thought you might want to give this contest a try. http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/holidays/capture-the-colour/ Considering how creative you are, I figured you must have photos kicking around that fit the five colors they’re looking for.
Good luck! It would be great if someone I invited wins something!
Thanks for stopping by and the follow! One of my favorite places is Townsend, TN, nestled up against the Smokies. Yay mountains! Look forward to seeing more of your shots.
Thank you too! I absolutely LOVE living in East TN! Being from FL I never got to see the seasons change and now that I live here Cades Cove in Townsend is a must every Fall!
“I was born and raised in Florida but my heart belongs in the mountains,” Ditto for me, Stephanie! I think about the mountains all the time from right here in central Florida. I’m even writing a book about them. Thank you for stopping by my blog and liking my post on Emily Dickinson’s poem. I am enjoying your photography. VERY nice!
Have a great rest of the weekend, and Happy First Day of Autumn!
Hello Marcia, I moved to East Tennessee almost three years ago from Central Florida, I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner! I feel more at home here than I ever felt in FL. Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. Have a fantastic Sunday 🙂
Ah, from Central Florida, too! I’m in Sanford, myself. Maybe we were neighbors! I have spent many a vacation in the Smokies and along the Blue Ridge, and I always feel like I’m coming home when I arrive up there. Maybe it’s “racial memory.” Perhaps my ancestors made those mountains their home, generations ago. There are many things I love about Florida, but the heat drives me crazier every year, and I would move to the mountains tomorrow if I could get my husband out from under the palm trees. I’m glad you are now in a place you love. I’m just hoping someday I’ll have a little vacation property up there to call my own.
Thanks for visiting and following The He Said She Said Experience. You have a lovely blog!
Kari: It’s always great to see beautiful pictures of back home and meet another girl who loves the mountains!
Thank you for following my blog as well 🙂
Be on the lookout for Fall pictures! It’s my absolute favorite time of the year and the colors in the mountains this time of year is to die for! Be blessed!
I’ve nominated you for a Beautiful Blogger Award. You can choose to participate or not. It’s up to you. To read more about it, go to my post http://purplerosemary.com/2012/10/13/beautiful-blogger-award/ and find directions. As well as a list of other bloggers I’ve nominated.
Stephanie your work is AMAZING! I am willing to use one of your photos in my personal birthday flyer and I wanted to ask you but I could not find your email address, Please contact me asap!
So proud of you! GREAT to see another student of mine getting ready to “make a name for herself!” You are so talented! I truly hope I can assist you as you continue…
You have helped me build confidence in my work and and I can’t thank you enough for that! You truly are an amazing teacher, I can’t wait for this semester!!
llove It here! The mountains are great but I’m a hot weather/beach girl. We go back often though to visit family. Do you do any wedding photography? My friend is looking for one for her wedding in Crossville in May.
My sister is a beach girl too. I do not photograph weddings but I do know a few people who do. I will get back with you with s few contacts.
Hello again! I have a friend that does photograph weddings and you can check out her website. Her name is Heather and you can pass her info on to your friend 🙂 Hfphotography.photoshelter.com
Thank you!!!
Do you like hot or iced coffee? From Florida, (hot), live in the mountains, (cold), I’m just asking. Anyway, thanks for following me here. Please leave any comments on anything you see at my site. I’ll be checking in on your’s too. Skip.
Hi Stephanie, firstly, thank you for the follow. I got the chills reading you ‘about’. Except for the fact that we are half a world apart, you are female and I’m not, you are young and beautiful and I’m not, we could be twins. Just kidding, but we do have a lot in common including photography, liking the cold and living in the mountains and coffee! Love your work. Be successful, be happy. Terry
I love the little I’ve seen so far of your photography. I bought a new camera recently and now have to wade through endless guff on how to drive it (currently we fight over who gets to—and how—take the snap. Camera so far is winning …)
There’s a freshness and vitality about your shots, please never lose that. Oh … and there’s a nice big coffee for you if ever you are in Starbucks (Invercargill) and approach an old goat sitting alone at a table muttering to himself while scribbling furiously—just say “Hi Argus!” and be prepared for a few moments of coming back to earth before you get a very warm welcome …
It’s great. I like the balance of composition and the transition from the 2-dimensional lettering to the color driven 3-dimensional dandelion. That takes a sharp eye. Nice work!!!
Thanks! I made my other signature about a year ago but I felt it needed an update. I actually just made the new one today 🙂 I like the simplicity of it yet it’s still unique.
I meant brightness/contrast driven 3D 😉
In the words of Bruce Lee, ‘Simplicity is the key to brilliance.’ Honestly, so many designers, even professional designers either don’t take the time or just are clueless when it comes to light/darkness balance. I know I probably sound stupid getting excited about it, but I’ve spent tens of thousands of hours doing digital design. You could say it’s a passiono f mine lol Anyway, I’ll be back ‘for real’ lol
I completely understand, while I am a better photographer than I am a graphic designer, I do really enjoy design! I love having an idea and being able to translate it into something others can see and enjoy. Thank you for your kind words, I’m very glad everyone seems to like the new logo.
I’m the same way totally. If I’m out and get an idea, I can’t wait to get home and start working on it. I don’t really do photography except when I get my pic taken with Santa and the Easter Bunny j/k Well, I’ve tagged your comment wall enough (for now). Peace!
Hi Stephanie,
I am Ritu from the blog ‘Beyond Beauty Tips’. I saw that we were connected through my blog. I announced my new domain but I haven’t seen you there yet.
